.burden of the gospels.

recently in reading the Gospels, i have found them more comforting and hopeful and life giving than ever before, more deeply moving and exhilarating and full of peace and life than ever before, but i'm also seeing the burden of these same living scriptures, sometimes raising the hardest of personal questions, sometimes bewildering, sometimes contradictory, sometimes apparently outrageous in their demands. sometimes they are difficult and confusing and overwhelmingly hard. but They still remain heartbreakingly beautiful and deeply precious to me.
